Evan Cassidy is starting a new wave! I just recently discovered Evan through my for you page on Tik Tok and he is very talented. In the Tik Tok Evan was showing off his new single “Talkative”, He showed the track before and after it got mixed (a process the casual music listener never sees) so that you could see the difference of what the audio engineer does to a track. Talkative is a mix of hyperpop and melodic rap in a way that I have never really heard before. The song starts out with a very lowkey flow that slowly becomes more emotional until evan comes in with the hook. On the hook of the song Evan talks about liking a girl but her thinking that he is too “Talkative”. On the next bar he talks about how he is not afraid and likes to speak about whatever is on his mind. Being Genuine is a skill a lot of people lack but speaking your mind can quickly make people talk back to you, I think that it is a bittersweet situation but it is always great to be true to yourself. The lyrics are catchy, very satisfying to the listener’s ear and continue you on to the first verse. I highly encourage anyone reading this to go check out Evans Music available on all platforms. After hearing Evans’ song “Talkative” I decided to reach out to him to get to know more about who he is.
Evan Cassidy is from Massachusetts, The 20 year old Artist first started making music in highschool at 15. Evan started music by freestyling on youtube beats with friends, He told us “that developed into a kinda addiction to the process and love for the art.” Evan started music because it has helped him through lots of tough times by making him feel better now he wants to give back and help others through music “I want to be that person for somebody else”. Evans favorite thing about being an artist is having an outlet to voice how he really feels and talk about things that he does not usually talk about. He says “I maybe wouldn’t have talked about it without it”. The Covid Pandemic affected pretty much everybody in the world in one way or another. This is what Evan said in regards to music during the Pandemic, “The pandemic took a lot of the in-person interaction away from us musicians, but it really helped me lock in on the internet side of things”. To learn more about what shaped Evans music we asked him who his music inspirations were. He said ``Lil Peep, Mac Miller, Juice WRLD, Kid Cudi, Kayne, and so many more”. You can see some of these inspirations in his music with his own Hyperpop style present. To this date Evan has around 200 thousand streams across the internet. He just recently put out a new 7 song Ep titled “me hates myself and i” My personal favorite songs off this project are “party by myself” “just2feelgood” and “Down the hole again (intro)”. So far this is my favorite EP that has dropped in 2022! The project is only 15 minutes but feels like a long rollercoaster ride through Evans day to day life and ideas in his head. It is truly a Beautiful piece of art that was put together with care. I highly encourage everyone reading this to go and listen to search up Evan Cassidy on any platform. I believe that he has the potential to be one of the biggest artists in the underground and make his way to the mainstream.
