The hot new artist Hundley out of Gurnee, Illinois is up next. Hundley is a prolific artist that we got the chance to catch up with this week. When asked “how did you start getting into music”, Hundley said that “he started writing music to miscellaneous beats in his spare time, freestyling with friends, and making beats on GarageBand/Logic Pro.” Hundley experimented with his passion for music for a while at a young age when he then decided to take it to the next level and got “in touch with his friend Ryan at Studio Kai Music Group out of Fox River Grove IL”. Hundley showed a strong ambition for pursuing his music career, and we think that it will benefit him greatly in the long run. When asked what his ideal situation would be, Hundley stated that his “ideal situation would be working in the music industry whether that’s as an artist, writer, or even behind the scenes”. The ability to have an open mind is not often seen in today’s industry, which will allow Hundley to diversify himself no matter the situation.

As we wanted to gather a further look into Hundley’s production process, we asked him the question “what makes you stand out most as an artist?”. Hundley responded by saying “what makes me stand out is my ability to articulate the lessons I have learned in my life through my lyrics. A lot of artists can say the same, but I try to express things that many people go through at both low and high octaves.” Hundley went on to also state that he is “working on his versatility as well, and wants to drop more R&B/ Soul songs eventually.”. When asked how he goes about making his music, Hundley was able to give us some insight into his creative process stating “I have to like the beat. I am very selective when it comes to that.”. After his rigorous selection process, Hundley will catch a flow and “just get into writing how he’s feeling or something that people can relate to.”. We think that this “go with the flow” process is something that will greatly benefit the longevity of Hundleys ability to produce high quality music. That led us to ask the question of “what do you want people to feel through your music” to which he stated that “happiness would be my first thought because obviously I want the people to enjoy it, but some of the songs I make are sad. If a listener is going through things emotionally, a great feeling to me would be that they can relate to what I’m relaying through my lyricism.”. We think that Hundleys natural desire to connect with and provide for the people who listen to his music will give him the ability to build a very solid fanbase.

We also got the chance to ask Hundley “what are some of your biggest inspirations”, to which he said “my mom is my biggest inspiration in general, but in regards to music, 50 Cent was the first rapper I heard and have loved hip hop ever since”. He then narrowed it down to his five biggest inspirations, which were “Young Thug, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, A Boogie, and Big Sean.” Nobody can predict the future, but we think that with inspiration coming from generational artists such as these, Hundley is bound to find his path to success. Hundley has recently released a three song EP “Isn’t Worth It” that is now available on all platforms. With forty five thousand total streams on Apple Music and Spotify, there is no doubt that people enjoy the outcome of this creative process. We know that Hundley is going to continue working on his craft, and hopefully keep rising up till he reaches the top of the charts.
