JuannyOG is a slept on artist in the underground. Residing in Raleigh, North Carolina the 20 year old artist is no stranger at all to music as he first started creating music at the young age of 10 years old. We had the chance to catch up with JuannyOG and decided to ask him “How did you first start making music?” He had this to say. “I used to actually steal childish gambino lyrics and pass them off as my own during 5th grade recess lol. I didn’t feel really good at anything so when people gave me that kinda reaction I thought I might as well stick with it . I’m pretty good at it lol. Of course after that I started writing my own songs. Haha”. We found this to be a funny and interesting start as an artist. More artists than you think started out by passing other artists lyrics as their own, But we are glad that Juanny grew out of this at a very young age and can now offer the listener his own pieces of art in lyrics. Every artist is different; this can be seen in both their music and their image. Generally artists usually enjoy different things about what they do. This is why we asked JuannyOG “What do you enjoy most about being an artist?”. He had this to say. “I enjoy the freedom I have to express myself in ways that I don’t always have to explain. The music speaks for itself. I can be as cryptic as I want or I can be as straightforward and transparent as I want. I also enjoy the energy I see from people seeing me live. Surreal.” We found this to be a full and thoughtful answer. At the end of the day all JuannyOG cares about is the beauty of the craft along with the way it affects people. The pandemic has without a doubt changed the shape of all of our lives. This is the reason why we asked JuannyOG “How has music been through the pandemic?”. He responded with this. “Honestly it hasn’t changed much for me. I’ve always been a writer so my daily writings have been pretty consistent. I wasn’t really doing shows anyways so in the thick of the pandemic I wasn’t doing much outside as other artists were.” It is great to hear that JuannyOG is still pushing harder than ever and has not let the Pandemic shutdown his creativity at all. Some artists have let the Pandmeic shutdown a lot of what they had planned so it is always good to see an artist that only works in what is in their control. Everybody has inspirations for what they do, Sometimes people have inspirations just for life itself. This is why we asked JuannyOG “Who are some of your biggest inspirations?”. He said this back to us. “Some of my biggest inspirations I can name off the top would definitely be my uncle Michael. John Cena, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad & childish gambino.” We found this to be pretty cool and different then most artists. Not only does he out artists he looks up to he also puts people that he knows personally and people that are outside the genre of music. We, Like everybody else, do not know what the future holds but we know that it is important to have a plan in place or a vision in sight so that you can take action on what you want most. So we asked JuannyOG “Where do you see yourself in five years?”. He said this “I see myself finally being where I want to be in my career . Doing everything at my own pace and finally being able to fund everything I ever dreamed of . I also want to write my own show.” We found this to be a very realistic and possible goal that JuannyOG will reach as he is one of the hardest working artists in the underground and will not stop knocking until he is let in. To this date JuannyOG has around 100 thousand streams across all platforms which is a great start to what we think will be a long and successful career. He recently dropped his debut album called “Do Or Die” in November of 2021. which is available on all major streaming platforms. To end off the write up JuannyOG had one last thing to say to his fans or anybody reading this. We decided to leave this completely unedited. “I plan to stay in this game for a long time . My music will help millions one day.”
