Justomobbin is next up out of wake forest! I got the chance to meet Justomobbin at a local music festival he was performing at called “Inthafest”. I had already heard one of his songs titled “Ashley” which has over 600,000 Streams on Spotify and has been used by a couple big Tik Tokers such as “Megnutt02” who has over 11 million followers on the platform. His style is hard to describe but it is very unique and satisfying to the ear. It is similar to New York rap mixed with his own personal style. The interesting bars cut deep and use great imagery to portray whatever Justo is talking about. He has some songs which he does not even really consider “songs” but rather him venting to his audience a certain situation going on in his life. His listeners can then relate or take something away from it. Some of my favorite personal bars from Justos song titled “Ashley” are these. “I refuse to let her prosper, Before I get an Oscar, and fight her fucking father, for creating such a monster”. The figurative language on these bars is very interesting and tells a story. Justo will not let or want to see Ashley (which is used as a “Jane doe” because Ashley is not her real name) Prosper until he does himself. Justo believes “Ashley” is a monster and not like other women, So much so that he would want to beat up her dad for creating her. This is very interesting and has a deeper meaning than the average listener would think. Justo does not believe “Ashley” was born a monster; he believes that she was nurtured into being one. For example rescue dogs will be more prone to attack people because they have been abused. This is not necessarily the animals fault because if their previous owner did not abuse them then they would be way less prone to attacking. Justo believes “Ashley” is the way she is not because of her own life choices but because of the way her father treated her. After seeing Justo Perform and further analyzing his songs I had to reach out with some questions for a write up.
Justomobbin is a 23 year old artist who first started making music 4 years ago back in 2018. When we asked him “How did you first start in music?” He said this. “I used to write poems then I eventually collaborated with my homie DGWAP with my first song “ White hoes”. DGWAP is another artist local to the Raleigh/Wake Forest scene who has done numerous local shows and collabs. Artists start making music for different reasons, some do it for the hopes of becoming famous and others do it because they truly love the art that is music. So we asked Justo “What was your reason for starting in music?” He had this to say. “I originally started because I love art but now I do it to heal others”. We found this response to be empowering and it shows why Justo is truly in it. He first started making music as an artform but now he is making music so people like me and you can have a better head space, Truly empowering. Different artists enjoy what they do for different reasons, Some enjoy the rush or “high” they get when making a song while others enjoy the thrill they get performing live and giving back to fans. Justo said this to us in regards to what he enjoys most about being an artist. “Traveling, doing shows and interacting with fans.” We found this to be a great response! As Justo does everything in music with his fans in mind and at heart. The Pandemic affected all of us in different ways and each artist uniquely. It gave some artists more time to go full throttle while it made other artists hit the breaks. Justo said music through the Pandemic was “Even better” and it gave him “More time to focus”. This answer insures us that Justo was working harder than ever while everyone was locked inside during the Pandemic. Many artists have inspirations to their music. To learn more about what shaped Justomobbins music we decided to ask him “who are some of your biggest inspirations?” He had this to say. “Earl sweatshirt, young pappy, mountain goats , and Tyler the creator”. When listening to Justos music you can without a doubt see the inspiration used to create it but you can also hear his own style. Justo does a good job of meshing these styles together while using his own creative twist on everything. We, like everybody else, do not know what the future holds but we know that it is important to have a plan sketched out so you know if you are making progress or not. Justos 5 year plan is to be “on stage at Coachella” We believe that this is without a doubt possible if Justo keeps making unique music while growing his audience. To this date Justo has close to a Million streams across all platforms. We believe that this number will increase heavily before the end of the year.
