PLANET Is making waves out of Long Beach! He first got into making music at the age of 11 when his mom gave him a drum set for his birthday but he’s been making beats since “He was in the womb!”. He played the drums throughout both High school and Middle school but at the same time he saw his cousins making music on garage band and knew that was where his true passion was. We had the opportunity to catch up with PLANET for him to reflect on his past, “I picked up the ability to use garage band. I then got adept at Logic Pro to not only make beats, but compile complete songs. I didn’t get my own laptop until recently so I grew up using other people’s laptops to make music without really having the chance to commit to it. But now it’s GO time. I’ve taught myself how to make complete songs, and to mix and master them. I’ve also taught myself how to edit and compile videos by using Premiere Pro and After Effects. This is why I call myself the greatest artist in history. And when Cities start opening back up I’m pouring my soul into my performance. Nobody other than maybe Kanye is doing all this, what I like to call, dying for their art.” Throughout his life PLANET has had many different musical inspirations from Lil B to his now main inspiration the late great XXXTentation, PLANET had this to say when talking about his biggest inspirations. “Growing up I’ve always listened to a lot of different genres of music. I was the Spotify playlist guy as a kid because Everyone knew I had great taste in a broad wide-span of music. I grew up listening to LIl b, playboy carti, XXX tentation, and mainly Future. Lil b is just an inspirational dude we can all learn a lot from him and his music goes. Playboy carti was always just a legend that changed the culture, no need to go into that. Future was a big musical inspiration because him being Caribbean, like me and going so hard musically to this day is crazy. Dirty sprite 2 is my favorite album next to Causers of this by Toro y moi. XXX tentation was and now the main inspiration as far as musical artists because of the impact he had on myself and everyone else that felt that same vibe. Him being Jamaican as well as I am Jamaican is another reason. He was also just a great guy and the energy he put into his music is unmatchable. R.I.P. to a Legend! On the other hand toro y moi, Beach fossils, tame impala, Mac demarco, heavy hawaii, all the other sad boy shit. The greatest inspiration of all is myself, and God.” In 5 years PLANET does not know where he will be as he, like all of us, can not tell the future, But he knows that he will be very successful some day. “I can never tell the future holds. What happens, happens. I just know I’m going down as the greatest artist in history.” At the time of this writing PLANET only has one song out but it has over 15,000 streams across all platforms, His newest song REGULAR will be available on all platforms Friday June 25th 2021. To end off the write up PLANET had something to say to all of his fans or anybody reading this, We decided to keep this unedited! “I make all of my music from scratch, I Produce the beats on Logic Pro, Then mix and master it myself. As for the music videos I edit them myself using Premiere Pro and then after After effects. This is why each one of my songs is like a baby to me, Or seasons in a journey. Each one of my songs is a spiritual experience where I’m just going hard trying to finish the difficult steps and outdo my previous self in the process. Everything is a battle between you and self doubt. Life is about eliminating those barriers we give ourselves. This is why I know nothing is impossible because I’ve got down the different arts of creating the music, singing and rapping on the track, and finely editing videos. And I don’t need to rely on anyone else to do my craft. Learning to do the whole process by myself is the hardest stuff I’ve done in my life, but like I said now I truly know nothing is impossible.”
