Zouli is Zooming out of Montreal! The 20 year old artist has been making music for around three years now and we can see lots of things coming together for him. Recently this year Zouli took a trip out to LA with his manager Josh Wexler where they shot a movie of a music video for his single titled “Your Fault”. The heartfilled song ushers in a brand new sound almost exclusive both to the underground and the mainstream, The lyrics encompass how zouli is really feeling as he says the only way he can express his pain is through the drink. In the track Zouli also opens up about how he wants to put on for his city and crew as he says the lyrics “Like I told my dawg before, Just give me some time and we all gonna be set”. He follows this lyric by showing how he feels indifferent with his succes when he says “Wanna love me just hit me up ain’t even show you respect”. After the start of the song Zouli hits the audience with the melodic part of the hook encapsulating the power of his voice. Zouli follows the hook with an “Uppercut” on the second verse, As the beat drops zouli delivers with a connection of simple bars that are satisfying to the ear. The video goes perfect with the song, Zouli is seen with his crew (Including his manger Josh) as he drives a foregin car fast down the streets of LA and drinking henny out the bottle. The production of the video is absolutely stunning as it looks made by a major label not an artist only found in the depths of the underground. After hearing the song and watching the video I had to reach out to his manager Josh and get the opportunity to catch up with Zouli and ask him a couple questions.
How did you start music?: “I started because it was something I was extremely passionate about. I have had that passion since I was a baby. I always grew around that shit. My dad used to be a singer when he was a kid too, so one day I just recorded a song on audacity with apple earphones. I decided to just buy a cheap mic to learn how to record and mix and shit and then I just fell in love with it.”
Who are some of your biggest inspirations? “A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Juice Wrld, Lil Durk, JI The Prince of NY, etc.”
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? “Hopefully with a lot of money, and just as many bitches.”
How many total streams do you have? About 55 thousand streams
What’s your most recent song? “Your Fault”
Anything else you want people to know? “I’m really just trying to put on for my city and give Montreal something to be proud of.”
We, like everybody else, do not know what the future holds for Zouli. We hope to see him emerging with his music and for him to keep dropping songs like “Your fault” as he advances his career and sound. We also hope he keeps his shades on, As the future is bright for this young star.
